She's a keeper!

Apologies if this is too graphic - THAT IS NOT A TOY MOUSE!!!

Dandelion stalked this critter for three nights. And unlike her housemate, she KILLED IT!

Jetta was raised as a house cat, never outdoors

until we moved to Wisconsin. She had lots of toys. To her, a mouse is a toy. Which she proves consistently, by catching them, playing with them - and turning them loose. In the house, no less.

But little Dandelion, having been on her own in the wilderness trying to survive by hunting, is deadly serious about the mouse business. She did play with it - but after it was well and truly dead. Good kitty!

I was almost speechless with delight. We have our share of mice in the cabin. Not overrun, but enough to notice from time to time. I now have hope. Hope that this little cat will make a dent in the rodent population.

And teach her housemate a few tricks of the cat-and-mouse business.

Google, our male cat would play with a mouse. His sister Yahoo would stalk and kill it and anything it brought with it. Her aim in life is to have nothing living in this house but people, one bird and her brother. That includes plants!
