Punk Lunch

Chef J whipped up a break from P-B-J. The bar-b-q cups are quick and easy, which is a good thing (according to Martha). The clincher is, that all the punks like them - five sets of taste buds don't always agree.

A tube of refrigerated biscuits - the plain (cheap) type, nothing fancy like buttermilk or super-duper flakey - and a foil pan for easy clean-up...
Chef J uses 1 1/2 biscuits, squished flat into about 5 inch circle, placed in well-sprayed/greased muffin cups.

Enlisting Gramma, the Chef instructed that a pound of venison burger, browned and drained....
and some catsup, mustard (not the fancy kind, this is for boy punks, remember), and molasses for the sauce...

all get smooshed and stirred until well-mixed.

Then it was spooned into the biscuit-lined cups. Filling doesn't need to be cooled, just plunk it in. If you like some cheese on top, this is the time to sprinkle it on. We did. Baked at 375 degrees for about 15-20 minutes, until biscuits were browned on edges and the wonderful aroma of bar-b-q sauce wafted out the door to bring the punks a'runnin.

With hungry boys clamoring for something to eat, the bar-b-q cups didn't last long out of the oven - which is my excuse for not having a photo of the finished product. Carrots, cuc slices, some fruit and pretzels, and butterscotch pudding helped fill those hollow legs.
And then most of them wanted a P-B-J sammy. For dessert, of course.
