Punk Lunch al fresco

I love it when the screen door bangs and someone calls out, "I'm hungry, gramma!" That's where grammas really shine, plying the grandpunks with good food at the drop of a grubby tennis shoe.

When the sun is shining, and the lawn furniture is out for the summer, we all would rather lunch outdoors. In the shade, of course.

This day's lunch menu was: pbj on mommy's good homemade bread, carrots and cuc slices, orange smiles and bananas, pretzels, and water.

Lots of water. It's hot these days. Finally.

Collin is taking his sandwich out of the bag - honest. He is NOT looking for bugs - who started that rumor??!! (On the other hand, if I had a couple of those fake mice the punks have been planting in various places for unsuspecting parents and friends....)

See? PBJ does it every time. And that finished off the grape jelly.

A wonderful lazy summery lunch break. Wish you had been here. I'd have whipped up some crust-trimmed cream cheese and cucumber tea sandwiches for us. With mint-lemonade. And strawberries with toasted walnuts. And...oh...wait.
Maybe you PREFER pbj....sometimes I mix it with honey and bananas...but that's another lunch time story.
