Take a break...

When my eyeballs felt like the Sahara had blown through, and my fingers were cramped and feeling as permanently hooked as the nose on the Wicked Witch of the West, and my (ahem) bottom was totally numb from sitting, it was time for a break. Past time.
I grabbed the camera, slipped into my clogs by the back door, and escaped to sanity. A couple of Buddah breaths, eyes closed to listen to the light wind voices and the raucous sandhill cranes hanging out by the pond, pinching some pungently scented rosemary growing in the herb pot by the back door...ahhhhh. The world begins to swing into balance again.

Hi, gang! Sorry no garden ventures today, no time to recapture you when you hop the fence to freedom. You can dream turkey dreams of getting loose in the corn field, though, that's allowed...

A last lingering look at the fall colors lit by the setting sun, grabbing up a couple of dandelion leaves to nibble on the way back to the cabin. Fresh air, accompanied by nature's blessing of quiet beauty and animal friends, my brain and bottom refreshed for the next round.
Sock knitting is a commitment of time and determination. Especially with a deadline for the next class. Only 18 hours away - and I have to get some sleep somewhere in those hours.
Four inches to go...back to work. Itty bitty needles, itty bitty yarn - the commitment may be ME - being committed to a funny farm.
Wonder if they let turkeys visit there...

I feel like I just took a wonderful walk with you :-). I had to laugh at the number of wires in the turkey fence!
