Cabin livin'...

Winter brings out the best of cabin living. Cozy fire in the stove, holiday decorations, baking for friends and neighbors, kitty Jetta a permanent lap fixture...yep, it's all good. Then add a dusting of snow - well, more like two FEET of snow - some punks to play in it then come in for cookies and company, and it's truly heaven. Not that there aren't some challenges, such as getting out to the bird feeders in 30 mph winds, or shoveling snow to reach the driver's side door of the car. But it's all just part of Wisconsin winter life. Here are a few photos to put things in perspective:

This is one of my favorites. Boots mean the punks are here, and that's the BEST!

The coat pegs work overtime when winter
comes along.

Here's a quick shot of the outside of the cabin, right after the first snow. The snow amount looks pretty puny now, compared to the knee-deep stuff I waded through to the birdfeeders this afternoon...

"OK, who said the CAT could share my chair?? She's touching me, mom, make her move!"

One thing you can count on, no matter where you live. LAUNDRY.

I do have a dryer, but it is much more satisfying - and homey - to hang things by the fire. Too bad for visitors, if they come on laundry day. Like my purple kitty jammies??
