Parting shots...

Maybe because it was such an idyllic 3 days of summer...maybe because we laughed a LOT...maybe because the punks mostly did it all themselves...
for whatever reason, we have all had a hard time letting go of Camp Purple. The whole group returned for an afternoon the following week. And had more wonderful experiences. It's like magic...

Anyway. I just had to add a few more photos. There were many comments on and off line about the picture of Carrie and Max. So here's the rest of them...

A picture's worth a thousand words...who said that? You might be able to guess, he was trying to bamboozle mom into something. All that schmoozing didn't get it, though...mom's no pushover for this guy, he really has to work for it!

Little Maddy is a born flirt! She gloms onto the guys left and right. I told her mom, it's a good thing we have digital cameras now, we'd be facing a fortune in photo processing otherwise - this baby is SO photogenic. And funny! All the punks adore her, she's the official mascot.

Here are some of those scarves...no two punks had them on the same way at any given moment...

Yes, that's nail polish. Told ya. Even the big punks succumbed to it...

Some punks are hard to capture in candid shots...but get them focused on something they really like, and ya got it made! The "firing range" was a good place to lurk for fun shots.
And comments.
This one has a story. When Lee asked Collin if he could use his pistol, Collin grinned and said, "Sure!" I knew what was coming. Poor Lee. He shot several times, each time peering at the target..."Did I hit it? I can't tell. I think I hit it..."
His last shot, "Yeah! I hit it, see that?!" Collin 'bout fell over laughing, when he finally told Lee he was out of ammo, the gun was empty the whole time Lee was using it. He got a good slugging for that one!
This is one of my favorites for two reasons. First, this cat never lets punks pick her up or rarely even pet her. Nathan had some sort of cat mojo going, because he carried her around and she even stayed on his lap for some petting. One of the grandpunks commented while passing by, "She doesn't like to be held..." and Nathan casually responded, "Oh, she's OK." Fickle cat.
The other reason I like this shot - look at their expressions. That's why he can do it - they are related. Same scowl.

Too many pictures, not enough room - or time.
We really enjoyed Camp Purple. Can you tell??

Speaking of nail polish, the punks would really like the move "Game Plan" (if they haven't already seen it :-).
