Out of the Dungeon...

The Dungeon project has produced the first crop of greens - we're very proud of our babies, they've grown up full of crisp juicy greenness, and now it's time for... harvesting....

and fulfilling their destiny as SALADS! And green smoothies. But that's another story...
The abundance of this first crop left plenty for more meals and sandwiches, so the greens were quickly rinsed in cold water (they aren't dirty, no rain splashing, it was just to get some extra moisture on them) and laid on a paper towels...
then rolled up like a jelly roll and put in a plastic veggie bag. They will store for at least a week this way, without spoiling.

But I seriously doubt if that will be an issue. We love our greens, and between the salad bowl and the blender, we'll keep the Dungeon greens pots busy.
I can't tell you how SATISFYING it was to pluck those first leaves and munch them down right on the spot! Now, we'll see how the winter temperatures affect the project..
In the meantime...there are more infants to be repotted to larger containers, and more seeds to get started. Just like a "real" garden...
