Knife, please...

There are two main highlights when it comes to punks and Halloween: carving pumpkins and creating costumes. OK, yeah, that's AFTER the loot, AKA candy and other sugary junk. We grew pie pumpkins this year, for canning, with the plan to have some of them honored to become Halloween decor.
A sunny day, happy punks, glowing pumpkins - what more could a carving crew ask?

Take note of that pot of "pumpkin guts and seeds", you'll see them again.

Lee drove every carving tool on the table through his punkinhead - ( shudder) - he really gets into the artistic side of this.

The proud parents of six new punkinheads. The front porch steps are a great staging place for showing off punks and punkins.

Of course we can't just leave the scene with such a sweet display of sibling togetherness. When the punks start the goofy faces, things quickly get ugly...

and the competition gets scary. Witness: the baby werewolf. Those pointy ears and sharp little teeth foretell a great Halloween career.

Now don't you just wish you had this display on your front porch?

I keep thinking about all the pumpkin pies that could be sitting there instead...

I love it! We had such a QUIET Halloween. We were thinking about all of our kids and wondering what they were doing. How lucky you are to be close to those little punks!

It looked pretty serious while carving but the after-carving shots were pretty funny!
