Halloween revisited...

Sometimes a few photos pop up that are too cute not to share. Here are some remnants of our Halloween week.
I love to sneak up on the kids with the camera when they aren't totally aware of what I'm doing. This series of Max is case in point...

At first he didn't know.

Then he did.
Then he didn't care. I feel like a piece of furniture at times...

One of the punks joys in life is coming over to the cabin and baking cookies -or cakes - or cupcakes -or anything sweet and edible, actually.
Max and Jayden started our Halloween cookie fest about a week ahead - which resulted in twice as much orange frosting than we needed. So, of course we had to make ANOTHER batch, a few days later. When you have nine people eating cookies at the same time, it doesn't take long to go through a batch. Like maybe six hours.

No Halloween is complete without a black cat. I just happen to have one. A REAL one.
This is one of Jetta's favorite perches. Its the rail, about 2" wide, above the toilet cubby sliding door. Don't ask how she does it - she's a cat, that's all I can say.

The striped curtains to the left (your left) are for the tub/shower cubby. Our bathroom has three compartments: compost toilet, bathing, and sink/washer-dryer utility area. We had to accomodate 10 people living in the cabin in the early days. This was a good way to provide privacy yet multiple use at any given time. And it did happen, frequently! Another compost toilet in an upstairs compartment was our fall-back, and with that many people it wasn't uncommon for someone to be bolting up the stairs when downstairs was occupied.
The good ol' days!
